The Isbornik Swjatoslawa (German: Textsammlung Swjatoslaws) is an illustrated manuscript from 1073 and 1076 in Church Slavonic.

 

On 266 parchment leaves it contains texts by Greek church fathers and theologians and from the Bible on theological, philosophical and ethical questions. A total of 380 texts by 28 authors are included. The manuscript is decorated with full-page colour miniatures and numerous ornaments.

 

The manuscript was made in 1073 and 1076 for Grand Duke Svyatoslav II of Kyiv, as a note in the text indicates. It was partly made after a collection for Tsar Simeon I of Bulgaria from the late 10th or early 11th century. In 1817 it was discovered in the New Jerusalem Monastery near Moscow. Today it is in the State Historical Museum in Moscow. It is the second oldest manuscript of the Premoscovite period of Old Russian literature after the Ostromir Gospels. (Wikipedia)
